From Maryport To Titanic exhibition 2012
    Daily from 24th March  to 13th May 2012 Doors open 11:00, last entry 16:30. (Schools by arrangement).




    In the early hours of April 15 1912 the world’s largest ship sank after colliding with an iceberg claiming more than 1,500 lives and shaking the world’s confidence in the infallibility of modern technology. A century later Titanic is remembered in Maryport, the town at the root of the Titanic story.

    Experience the A la Carte restaurant as used by the first class passengers.

    You will see a third class passenger's sleeping quarters with our Third Class Cabin recreation.

    Visit our Marconi Room to see how vital wireless messages were sent and received.

    Various movie props form James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster movie Titanic including a dress worn by Kate Winslet.

    A rare chance to see the world's only steel hulled collection of the three sister ships Olympic Titanic and Britannic.

    During April 14th and 15th we will be a world hub for Morse wireless communications. See and hear how those vital messages were sent and received.

    The last dinner served aboard Titanic will be served in The Wave, Maryport on 23rd March 2012.

    Radio Titanic: Call sign GB1 WSL   Frequency 20 and 1480  'From Maryport to Titanic Exhibition' will be a hub for special worldwide radio communications. Beginning at 11:00 GMT on the centenary date 14th April 2012 we will broadcast Morse and voice communications throughout the day.

    Service of Remembrance
    A service of remembrance will be held at 14:00 on Sunday 15th April 2012 at Christchurch. The service will include a solo violinist. Join us this Sunday 15/04/2012 at 2pm. All welcome
